Saleh's Shipment to Saudi Arabia: Factories Far Apart, Only We Could Quickly Consolidate Without Delaying the Deadline
On May 8, 2022, a Saudi client named Saleh found me online. He was extremely anxious as he was looking for a logistics company to consolidate his shipment to King Abdullah Port, Saudi Arabia.
Saleh had two suppliers, but unfortunately, the two factories were very far from each other. He wanted to consolidate the goods from both suppliers into one container for shipment. However, he had no idea how to organize the shipment and was struggling to find a reliable freight forwarder China to Saudi Arabia.
Saleh explained that the goods from Factory A and Factory B were evenly split. Factory A's cargo was heavy and included some loose items, while Factory B's goods were light and mostly in cartons.
I reassured Saleh that Sunny Worldwide Logistics has its own fleet of trucks, something only 10% of companies in the industry have. Another key factor for overseas customers choosing a freight forwarder China to Saudi Arabia is that the forwarder must have its own warehouse. This allows full control over the logistics process, ensuring efficiency and high-quality management of the goods. We have a dedicated foreign trade warehouse at Yantian Port. Out of 60,000 logistics companies in Shenzhen, only three have such capabilities.
Saleh was convinced and asked me to arrange the shipment as soon as possible. The next day, he brought up an unexpected issue: Factory B's machines had broken down, causing a delay in production. Saleh was very stressed because his factory was about to halt production, and they needed these parts to continue operations. Otherwise, they would face a complete shutdown.
Understanding the urgency, I immediately contacted Factory B to determine the earliest possible time for pickup. Time was tight, and the logistics timeline was a significant challenge. If any step went wrong, the shipment would miss the boat. This delay tested both the time management and coordination skills of the freight forwarder.
I confirmed the ready times for both factories and then selected the nearest port to Factory A. Based on the estimated loading time, I secured a suitable vessel bound for Saudi Arabia. I pre-arranged for our trucks to be on standby at Factory B. As soon as production finished, the goods were immediately transported to Factory A, where both shipments were loaded into the container together.
This approach allowed Factory B's goods to go directly into the container without needing to first unload them at Factory A's warehouse. This saved on consolidation unloading fees and minimized the risk of damaged or lost goods. Additionally, by negotiating with Factory A to load both shipments on-site, we saved the client the cost of warehouse loading fees. Skipping the extra warehouse stop also significantly reduced consolidation time. We loaded at Factory A on the day of the shipping cutoff, and the vessel departed three days later— the fastest possible schedule after Factory B's goods were ready.
This consolidation plan made Saleh very happy, saving him both time and money. He was finally able to relax.
My clients are all quality-conscious. They understand the principle that you get what you pay for. While ensuring quality control, I also look for ways to help my clients save money. This is something only an experienced freight forwarder China to Saudi Arabia can do, and there aren't many who can. Saleh is just one of my many clients needing consolidation services.
Many of my clients have encountered all kinds of issues with freight forwarders from China to Saudi Arabia—hidden costs, poor service, and unmet promises. Unfortunately, it's common for small operators to run businesses from tiny apartments with only two or three people, accepting any shipment, and disappearing when problems arise. That's never the case with Sunny Worldwide Logistics. We operate from a full-floor, 1800-square-meter Grade A office in Shenzhen, ranking among the top 3% in the industry.
